Our Club

 It is true... that patriotic and caring individuals came together to form this Club… 

Yuma Homefront Optimist Club is a membership club.  Members pay monthly dues to pay for the administrative costs of a nonprofit organization. We are considered as a “Special Interest Club”, which means, we are a little different from “traditional” Optimist Clubs.

We are all volunteers and the club has neither paid staff nor an “office”.  Our club activities and programs are focused on assisting military families in the Yuma area.

 What is different about us? 

Our focus is “Action” - Programs to assist the needs of military families are the main reason we exist as a Club.  Our Monthly meetings are open to all, members and non-members, to welcome their input.  We get together about twice a year to have fun and  strengthen our bond; working together for a common mission.

Each member contributes to our Club in a special way, and we are committed! 

So… what do I have to do to join?

 1.     Print out Application

2.     Mail with your payment of dues to the Club mailing address: 340 W. 32nd St. #654 Yuma AZ 85364

    You have a choice to pay for 6 months ($36) or the whole year ($72)

How Are My dues spent? 

  • Our Club dues are $6 month – the processing fee of $15, for Optimist International, is paid by the Club, as our “Welcome” gift to you! 
  • From your $72 annual dues, the Club pays the $15 fee to the Arizona District, and $46.60 to Optimist International:   $72-($15+$46.60) = $10.40 which remains with our Club for our operational costs like postage stamps for fundraising events and other expenses.  Optimist International is our “Umbrella” non-profit organization and their function is strictly administrative.  Their salaries are paid by  member dues; thus, enabling us to allocate 100% of donated funds to our mission.

Can I join the effort without becoming member?

Yes!  All our meetings and fundraise events are open to public!  Please come join us!

Please note: We may choose to hold “Electronic Meetings” instead of actual face-to face meetings during the hot summer months due to many members being away from Yuma area, and during the busy holiday season at the end of the year.   Most of the Club communications are done by e-mail.

 We meet October every year to celebrate our Club’s Birthday. This is the only social event, and this may take place as BBQ at a Park, or dinner at the restaurant, depends on the year.
