LETTERS FROM THE COMMUNITY |

Dear
Ms. Wintergerst,
I
would like to thank you for the generosity you showed me and
my family during my redeployment back into the States.
Because of your fuel gift cards, my wife and children were
able to travel the 1300 miles from Arizona to Kansas, to
welcome me home from Iraq. It was very comforting to know
that she could stop at any hour of the day and refuel, not
worrying whether the service station would be closed for the
evening. Because of organizations like you, I am that much
prouder to say I am an American. I would like to thank you
again, not only from my family, but the many soldiers who
have also benefited from your great contributions.
Sincerely,
SSG Axel

Dear Military
Families,
My family would like to thank
you for your selfless acts to protect our way of
life. We have abundant choices that we can choose from which
most of us are unaware the sacrifices generations of
military families made. I would like to repay my
gratitude by supporting organization like Yuma Homefront
Optimist Club. Thank you!

Ms.
Wintergerst,
I wanted to express my deepest gratitude for all of your
help! I wish you could truly understand how much you have
helped us. You are a god send and if there is ever anyway we
can repay you or your organization please let us know. I
will keep this letter short because I am not even sure you
will get it. I have been having a lot of trouble getting your
e-mail address to work. It does not work at all if I just
hit "reply". It will be very nice to be able to send and
receive e-mails to/from my wife and I feel a lot better now
that I know she and our kids have more of the things they
need. I don't know how to thank you enough. God bless you!
Respectfully,
Daniel

Suzie,
I would just like to say thank you for the website.
I only wish that I were serving in the military right now. I
would beg to go to Afghanistan, or Iraq to defend the nation
that I love. But, God had different plans for me. You see, I
was born nine weeks early which caused mild cerebral palsy.
It kept me out of the military but still gave me a soldier's
heart and spirit. Individuals in the military are my heroes
and motivators. It has often been veteran's and active duty
military friends that have kept me focused and to never quit
on my goals. As a 7th Grade Social Studies teacher I have a
special place in my classroom dedicated to the military. I
am playing my par t in our War On Terror by ensuring that
students understand their history but that freedom comes at
a tremendous price. If you have addresses of anyone I could
correspond with I would greatly appreciate it. I am with all
of our troops and their families if only in heart and
spirit. Thank You for all you do!
A Grateful American,
Brandon |
